Vanessa Perez Marquez, EDC research assistant, has experience in supporting educational and psychological research through participant recruitment, instrument development, data collection, data analysis, and caregiver-child interviews. She is particularly interested in enhancing early childhood learning, promoting informal learning, and combating educational inequity by advancing equitable practices.

Perez Marquez is currently contributing to two research projects, Ready to Learn and La Fuerza-STEM, which are investigating how formal and informal educational resources can support early childhood learning at home and in school.

Prior to joining EDC, Perez Marquez co-founded an ESL tutoring group that focused on promoting English literacy within the local farm workers community of upstate New York.

Perez Marquez holds a BA in Psychology and Spanish from Colgate University. She is fluent in English and Spanish.
