Michelle Majeres, senior prevention specialist and behavioral health expert, has over 18 years of experience providing high-quality training and technical assistance (T/TA). A skilled and engaging trainer, she supports the use of evidence-based programs that improve outcomes in substance misuse prevention, suicide prevention, and mental health promotion. She brings extensive expertise in providing TA that builds providers’ skills, advances programs’ continuous improvement, and strengthens systems.

Majares is a T/TA specialist for EDC’s Strategic Prevention Technical Assistance Center (SPTAC) funded by the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA). She is also a senior prevention specialist for the Suicide Prevention Resource Center.

Before joining EDC, Majeres served as a prevention coordinator for the Southeast Prevention Resource Center in South Dakota. In this capacity, she provided T/TA to coalitions, schools, and communities across the state. She also collaborated with state staff to provide support focused on strengthening the state prevention infrastructure.

Majeres holds a BS in Sociology with an emphasis on Social Work and Human Resources from South Dakota State University. She is a certified prevention specialist.
