Jane Kang, EDC senior research associate, brings 20 years of experience in mathematics and computer science education and research. Her areas of expertise include instructional design, teacher professional development, implementation research, and educational R&D. Her experience as a high school mathematics teacher and teacher leader informs all of her work.

As a member of the Improving Equity in AP CS Principles: Scaling Beauty and Joy of Computing team, Kang is providing training and support to teachers. For the A World in Motion project, she is developing standards-aligned, real-world STEM challenges for high school students.

Kang is a co-author of EDC’s research-based Transition to Algebra curriculum and the related professional development book Making Sense of Algebra. Her work appears in journals such as ACM Transactions on Computing Education and Mathematics Teacher.

Kang holds a PhD in Education from the Harvard Graduate School of Arts and Sciences, an EdM in International Education Policy from the Harvard Graduate School of Education, an AB in Chemistry from Harvard University, and an ALM in Mathematics for Teaching from Harvard Extension School.
