Hanna Girma Wedajo, EDC senior research associate, specializes in qualitative research, policy analysis, program evaluation, and research communications. Wedajo has worked on a range of education research projects in Sub-Saharan African countries, including girls’ and marginalized children’s education, equity in education, educational quality improvement, youth’s aspirations, and gender-based violence.

Wedajo is collaborating with partners in Kenya, Rwanda, and Brazil to carry out a LEGO Foundation-funded initiative, the Scaling Learning through Play with Technology Research Collaborative. She oversees the research design, data collection, and analysis process; leads the implementation of qualitative research methods; and writes research reports to share findings. Before joining EDC, Wedajo worked as an education researcher for UNICEF.

Wedajo holds a PhD in Comparative and International Education from the University of Minnesota and an MA in Human Rights from Addis Ababa University. She received her LLB in Law from Dire Dawa University. She is fluent in English and Amharic.
