Alisha Keirstead is the director of EDC’s Global Health Team, where she provides leadership, technical support, and quality assurance for EDC’s international health programs. She oversees the organization’s work focused on adolescent health, comprehensive sexuality education, orphans and vulnerable children (OVC) programs, HIV care and support, and health and social welfare system strengthening. She provides additional leadership for EDC’s cross-sectoral global initiatives in mental health and psychosocial support, child welfare and social protection, and gender-based violence prevention and response.

Under Keirstead’s leadership, EDC has established innovative and effective models for OVC case management, digital data management systems for family-centered OVC and HIV care, and adolescent sexual-reproductive health education, which have been featured at the International AIDS Conference, Global Social Service Workforce Symposium, and other public health venues. She has also developed and supported EDC’s health programs in multiple countries, including the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Liberia, South Africa, South Sudan, Uganda, and Zambia.

Keirstead holds a Master of Public Health in International Health from Oregon State University and speaks English and French.
