This is the executive summary of a report that describes the proceedings from the first State-Federal STEM Summit, held June 2018 in Washington, D.C. STEM education leaders from the K–16 education, business, and policy sectors met at the National Science Foundation to share their individual viewpoints on the impact of the 2013-2018 Federal 5-Year STEM Education Strategic Plan and priorities for the future plan. These attendees included representatives from the 50 U.S. states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, the U.S. Virgin Islands, Guam, the Northern Mariana Islands, and several tribal territories. Their reflections were intended to inform the direction of the 2018–2023 STEM Education Strategic Plan.
