Finding Beauty and Joy in Computing

In high school, Mikael Moise was introduced to computer science. Now they want to make it their career.

When they were growing up, Mikael Moise didn’t think much about a career in computer science. But as a high school student in New York City, Moise enrolled in the Beauty and Joy of Computing, an AP Computer Science Principles course authored by EDC and the University of California, Berkeley.

The course sparked Moise’s interest in loops, if-then statements, and the world of coding. After a few months, they decided to pursue computer science as a potential career and is now studying the subject in college.
