On May 10, EDC hosted "Youth Livelihood Programs in Conflict-Affected Areas: Lessons Learned from Kenya and Mali” to share lessons learned from the Garissa Youth and Yes Youth Can! North East Region projects in Kenya and the Mali Out-of-School Youth project (also known as Paje Nièta).
At a briefing this week at the U.S. Department of Education, EDC Vice President Shelley Pasnik will share highlights from Reflections on the Ready To Learn Initiative 2010 to 2015, a new report conducted with SRI International.
EDC staff will be in San Francisco to present 11 sessions during the 2016 National Council of Supervisors of Mathematics Annual Conference (April 11–13), National Council of Teachers of Mathematics Research Conference (April 11–13), and National Council of Teachers of Mathematics Annual Meeting (April 13–16).
EDC will continue its research and evaluation of the public media initiative Ready To Learn thanks to a new five-year, multimillion-dollar grant to the Corporation for Public Broadcasting (CPB) and PBS from the U.S. Department of Education’s Office of Innovation and Improvement.
