Peer Mentoring in the Lounges
Students, mentors and Project Liaisons alike each have their own private on-line space to communicate with and support
each other. These spaces are three separate electronic mailing lists referred to as Lounges, one for students -- the
Student Lounge, one for mentors -- the Mentor Lounge and one for Project Liaisons -- the Teacher Lounge. These proved
to be critical components of the project.
Each participant in a Lounge is considered a Peer Mentor, capable of
using her strengths and talents in raising issues and bringing folks together to help sustain the Lounge as a place to
share ideas continuously as they confront new situations and develop effective strategies for success.
