I thought you might be interested in this.
I'm having my undergraduate students (future elementary and middle school
techers) at Winona State University work with American Memory. I had them
start searching by looking for pictures, manuscripts etc relating to their
home towns. They enjoyed that. Next they created mini-units. They've all
done very well. It is interesting that they made the same mistakes that
many of us did---trying to do too much!
