Congratulations Lydia and Laura on the Vaudeville unit you've shared with
everyone. It's very rich and represents a remarkable about of work. Apparently
you guys haven't been relaxing at the theater yourselves, but have been working
working working...

Since you ask for comments here are some quick comments on just one activity:

Re the Student Activity on researching an historical figure --
I wondered how students would be able to detect bias or inaccuracy in a
biography without other (more reliable) information. It occured to me that if
students read a relatively reliable print biography, they could then develop a
useful critique of the bias or inaccuracies in any WEB bios they find for the
person. In a medium rife with thin and often careless historical info, this
would be an 'authentic' service students could provide! As a small matter, I
also thought that giving students a list of historical figures to choose from
might help them get started easier -- and there are lots in the different sites
you link to.

Great activity! Great unit! Again, congrats, Lydia and Laura,

Bill Tally

Greetings from My Old Kentucky Home!
If you all get a chance, take a look at our revisions and let us
know how we can improve it. You can find it at:

We did a presentation at the Kentucky Education Technology
Conference last week, and the teachers who visited the web site were
most impressed! (Of course, what else?)
