It is amazing the depth of empathy for Lydia and Laura' technical
difficulties. I had not checked my e-mail in 24 hours and I had 11
messages from fellows and LOC staff. I laughed while reading Lydia's
message. EACH of us has had one of these experiences. Sometimes plan B
does not work either. I have had enough success with technology to try
again. However, Lydia's esperience highlights just what novice
technology users fear most. It might be useful to explore what has
worked. Then post an alternate to live computer use provide summary
materials at presentations as a safety net.

The comment that was made about librarians preaching to the choir may
point up one difference in our audiences. I seldom have media
specialists in my audiences. Most teachers are stil wary (if not
intimidated) by technology. Our lessons are VERY technology intensive.
