Victor Mateas is an experienced educator, researcher, and instructional designer specializing in mathematics, science, data science, and computer science. For over 13 years, he has advanced innovative initiatives to support teachers in enhancing instruction and improving outcomes for middle school and high school students.

Mateas is a curriculum designer and professional development provider for several EDC projects, including Science+C and the Massachusetts Data Science Education and Workforce Initiative. His work is informed by his experience teaching high school mathematics and science in the Boston Public Schools.

Mateas publishes articles in peer-reviewed journals such as Mathematics Teacher: Learning and Teaching PK–12 and Mathematics Teaching in the Middle School. He regularly presents at national and regional conferences.

Mateas holds an EdD in Curriculum and Teaching from Boston University, an MEd in Middle/Secondary Education from the University of Massachusetts–Boston, a BS in Biomedical Engineering from Columbia University, and a BA in Biology from Bard College at Simon’s Rock.
