Kimberly Clear-Sandor, a child-care health consultant, is an expert in child and family health and wellness. She brings extensive experience in social determinants of health, training and technical assistance, and product development. Nationwide, she guides the use of evidence-based strategies to promote children’s health and create and sustain healthy and safe early childhood environments.

For the National Center on Health, Behavioral Health, and Safety, Clear-Sandor provides evidence-based tools, techniques, and trainings that include a focus on emergency recovery and response following disasters. She also supports child-care health consultants and services for children with special health care needs.

As the executive director of the Connecticut Nurses’ Association, Clear-Sandor provides professional development for school nurses and supports nurses that work in early care and education. She reviewed the environmental standards in Caring for Our Children and collaborated with the Connecticut State Department of Education to update the Education Guidelines for the Prevention and Management of Lead Poisoning in Children.

Clear-Sandor holds a BSN from Boston College and an MSN as a family nurse practitioner from Columbia University.
