Jan Ulrich has extensive experience in the suicide prevention field. For over 20 years, she has coordinated and developed training and technical assistance (TA) resources for schools, community organizations, and health care providers. She has also specialized in leading media campaigns to raise awareness of suicide prevention.

In her work with EDC’s Zero Suicide Institute, Ulrich provides training, consultation, and TA to health and behavioral health care systems seeking to adopt the Zero Suicide model for health care systems. She oversees projects that improve care and outcomes for individuals at risk of suicide in health care systems and settings. She also delivers training and consultation in a variety of prevention methods, including telephone, email, virtual, and in-person.

Prior to joining EDC, Ulrich spent nine years with the Kentucky Department for Behavioral Health overseeing the full continuum of suicide prevention across the state, working with primary and secondary education, law enforcement, fire departments, emergency dispatch, trauma-informed care, workforce/HR, NCAA/college athletics, legislators, media, and others.

Ulrich holds a BAS degree in Communication from the University of Louisville.
