Cindy Hoisington, a nationally recognized early childhood education expert, is a highly skilled professional developer and instructional designer. She leads initiatives that help teachers provide children from low-income communities with rich early learning experiences and empower low-literacy families to be their children’s first science, STEM, and language teachers.

Hoisington is reviewing, advising, and evaluating PBS Ready to Learn digital media and resources that seek to boost children’s science learning. She is also designing, developing, and evaluating a science/computational thinking curriculum for grades 1 and 4. Recently, she served as the lead professional developer and instructional designer for Literacy and Academic Success for English Learners through Science.   

A widely published author, Hoisington is also a reviewer, adviser, and writer for educational media initiatives, including Curious George, Peep and the Big Wide World, and The Cat in the Hat Knows a Lot about That! She co-facilitates the National Association for the Education of Young Children’s Early Childhood Science Interest Forum.

Hoisington received a BS in Biology from University of Massachusetts and an MEd from Bridgewater State College.
