The Role of Primary Care Physicians in Preventing Suicide

The nation’s primary care physicians must assess patients for a variety of health conditions, but often don’t know where to refer patients after they conduct the screening. But with the right tools, primary care doctors can help prevent suicides, says EDC’s Jerry Reed. He cites several examples of quick screening tools for suicide and other mental health issues.
