Principals Work 60-Hour Weeks, EDC Study Finds

A new study from the Regional Educational Laboratory Northeast & Islands at EDC has found that school principals spend an average of nearly 60 hours a week on the job, mostly on internal administrative tasks. Spurred on by the study, Education Week asked six principals to talk about how they spend their time in these videos. The REL study is based on data collected through the Schools and Staffing Survey by the National Center for Education Statistics during the 2011-12 school year.
