EDC Appoints Senior Vice President for External Affairs

WALTHAM, MA | EDC has appointed Tina Choi as senior vice president for external affairs with responsibility for communications, strategic policy initiatives, and partnership development.

Choi comes to EDC from Ashoka, a leading social entrepreneurship organization, where she was head of Global Media and Communications for the past nine years. At Ashoka, Choi led strategic marketing and branding initiatives and oversaw a global team dedicated to social media, Web, and press relations. Her 25+ years of professional experience includes roles as communications director and Mohn Fellow at Bertelsmann AG, White House Fellow in the Office of the U.S. Trade Representative, director of the Global Teaching and Learning Project at the United Nations, and an Echoing Green Public Service Fellowship.

Choi has spoken at conferences hosted by organizations such as the State of the World Forum, the Corporation for National Service, and Harvard Law School, and she has written on topics including women and leadership, human rights, organizational development, and corporate-community partnerships. She has also appeared in the Boston Globe and on the Today Show, Voice of America, and UN Radio.

Choi received an EdM in social and education policy, with a focus on organizational behavior and leadership training, from Harvard University; a postgraduate diploma in International Finance from Oxford University; and a BA in political science/Latin American studies from Wellesley College. She is based at EDC’s headquarters outside Boston.
