Siobhan Murphy is an EDC vice president and serves as deputy to the president. In these roles, she leads a variety of initiatives across EDC and guides the implementation of the Strategic Plan. Murphy is also a member of EDC’s policymaking management council and also serves as corporate secretary.
Murphy has many years of managerial experience in public health, specifically on the programmatic and fiscal management of large, complex contracts and projects. Prior to her current role, Murphy served as deputy director of EDC’s Health and Human Development Programs, providing administrative oversight to this division of 150 employees.
Previous to EDC, Murphy was director of program development at the Division of Public Health in the Boston Department of Health and Hospitals (now the Boston Public Health Commission), where she led coordination between projects, with a special focus on management, operations, and technical assistance.
Previously she was a lobbyist for the Connecticut Conference of Municipalities, the state’s association of cities, where she provided advocacy, policy analysis, and research to its members.
Murphy holds a bachelor of arts from the University of Connecticut and a master’s degree from the University of Michigan School of Public Health.
