Joanne Brady, senior vice president, heads EDC’s Learning and Teaching Division. She is also a member of EDC’s policy-making management council. Brady is recognized in the United States and abroad for contributions to the fields of child development, teacher development, and early childhood education.
Brady has worked for more than 25 years with preschools, elementary schools, states, and governments to help them refine their systems to improve the impact of teaching on learning. She has worked with universities and NGOs in Eastern Europe and Russia to design and evaluate curricula. Her recent work has focused on the design and evaluation of teacher development programs focused on language and literacy, science, and social and emotional development. She has presented her work at major conferences and seminars in the United States and abroad and has contributed to numerous publications.
Brady holds a master’s degree in education, with concentrations in urban education and early childhood education, from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst.
