Joanna Jones is a vice president and EDC’s director of human resources. She leads and manages all human resource functions for EDC’s more than 1,600 U.S.-based and international employees. Her responsibilities include employee benefits, compensation, staffing, compliance, employee relations, professional and organizational development, HR systems, budget, policies and procedures, affirmative action/EEO, and diversity.
Prior to joining EDC, Jones served for many years as human resource director for Bath Iron Works in Bath, Maine. She also has experience in the classroom, having taught at the University of Southern Maine, the University of Maine at Augusta, and in the Topsham, Maine, and Lexington, Massachusetts, public schools. She has served on a number of boards and is a trustee of the Maine Community College System.
Jones holds graduate degrees from the Harvard Graduate School of Education and Simmons College and a bachelor’s degree from Mount Holyoke College.
