Wolbachia Project: Discover the Microbes Within!

This five-year project is directing the evaluation of the Marine Biological Laboratory’s Wolbachia Project, which provides high school teachers and students an opportunity to learn important concepts and techniques as they participate in authentic modern microbiology research.

The Wolbachia Project components include:

  2. Discovery-based lab during the school year in the classrooms of those teachers who participated in the workshop
  3. Student and teacher summer “envisionships” in a Wolbachia scientist’s laboratory

Project evaluators will review the first and second components.

EDC Project Director: Jackie DeLisi, Ed.D.

Duration: 2007–2012

Funder: Howard Hughes Medical Institute

(EDC is a subcontractor on this project to Marine Biological Laboratory.)
