Vietnam Heroin Addiction Recovery Project

Heroin is the most commonly used illicit drug in Vietnam. EDC supports the work of Family Health International (FHI) in Vietnam by providing training and technical assistance on group facilitation skills to group leaders across the country who run peer support groups for recovering heroin addicts. Building on research-based principles of addiction recovery, effective peer support group models will be adapted to create a new national model that is culturally appropriate for Vietnam. By partnering with other non-governmental organizations that operate in the region, and training trainers in this support group model, the project fosters the development of ongoing social support for recovering heroin addicts.
