EDC is developing, testing, and publishing Linear Algebra and Geometry, a modular curriculum for high school capstone courses that features three semesters’ worth of topics in linear algebra and its applications.
Student resources comprise two main parts:
- A core semester for all students that develops two- and three-dimensional geometry from a vectorial perspective and treats matrix algebra and its applications to geometry and other high school topics
- 12 standalone modules that develop applications of the core for mathematics, engineering, science, and other STEM fields
The project is conducting research on student learning experiences related to critical aspects of linear algebra and the effect the materials have on teaching, learning, and the postsecondary performance of students who use them.
