The Center for the Application of Prevention Technologies (CAPT) provides responsive, tailored, and outcomes-focused training and technical assistance to prevent and reduce substance abuse and associated public health issues.
Funded by the federal Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration’s Center for Substance Abuse Prevention (SAMHSA/CSAP), CAPT:
- Assists CSAP grantees (including U.S. states, jurisdictions, and federally recognized tribes and tribal entities) in using data-driven decision-making to select and implement evidence-based practices and programs
- Builds the skills, knowledge, and expertise of the prevention workforce to support the successful implementation of SAMHSA’s Strategic Prevention Framework and other CSAP priorities
