Early Childhood Experts to Discuss What’s Next in the Field

EDC to convene discussion about trends in early childhood learning

Teaching science with confidence, mastering mathematics in the classroom, new models of collaboration—these topics are on the agenda for “Early Childhood—What’s Next?” a New England-wide conference sponsored by EDC and several early childhood organizations.

District administrators, early childhood leaders, and advocates will participate in the invitation-only event on Tuesday, September 19, from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at EDC in Waltham, Massachusetts. The day will feature sessions with EDC researchers who will share what’s being learned and talk about what’s ahead for the field of early childhood learning and development.

“So much is happening in this field, and with the start of a new school year, we are excited to bring together early learning leaders from across the region,” said EDC’s Pat Fahey. “Our researchers and program directors are eager to hear about leaders’ challenges and successes, with the ultimate goal of improving education for our youngest learners.”

The event will also include a keynote address by Ellen Galinsky of the Bezos Family Foundation and a session with education and early childhood commissioners from Connecticut, Massachusetts, and Rhode Island.
