Bertha Gorham photo


Bertha Gorham, PhD, is a monitoring and evaluation expert with a special focus on prevention. Her work serves early childhood, school-age, and adult populations in the United States.

During her 30-year career in the field, Gorham has supported Head Start centers, substance abuse programs, and wellness programs, and has helped organizations and individuals use data to implement programs with fidelity. She has also supported data use in federal resource centers, coordinated regional trainings for states, and conducted multi-year, longitudinal research studies.

Gorham serves on the Core Evaluation Team for SAMHSA’s Center for the Application of Prevention Technologies (CAPT) and is the lead evaluator for the Center of Excellence for Infant and Early Childhood Mental Health Consultation.

Gorham earned a PhD in educational research and policy analysis from North Carolina State University and an MS in measurement, research, and statistics from Johns Hopkins University.
