Youth training and employment programs around the world can now benefit from the new website, www.preparing4work.org, which features a collection of tested curricula and other tools used to educate and train young people ages 14–30 in developing countries.
Developed by EDC with funding from the U.S. Agency for International Development, the website features resources for work readiness, entrepreneurship, technical skills, and life skills. Youth program designers and managers can select materials that best fit with their potential participants, program goals, and the demands and opportunities of their local economy.
“With more than 275 million school-aged youth not in school, the need is greater than ever for access to education, skills, and job training,” said EDC’s Nancy Meaker. “The resources and guidance we offer on the website will help our international partners create dynamic, high-quality training programs to prepare more young people for work.”
