Jon Silverstone designs and manages effective programs that improve basic education, adolescent health, and economic opportunities for young people in Africa and Asia, especially in disadvantaged, fragile, or conflict-affected environments.

Silverstone has directed large-scale projects that help adolescents and youth access health and education services in such countries as South Sudan, the Democratic Republic of Congo, Kenya, Ghana, Nigeria, Uganda, South Africa, Botswana, Zambia, Nepal, Laos, Thailand, and the Philippines. As director of EDC’s Global Health Team, Silverstone integrates state-of-the-art public health approaches, proven education methods, and practical behavior-change techniques to improve the health, well-being, and resilience of adolescents and youth in developing countries.

Silverstone holds an EdM in international education development from Boston University.
