For two years, the Innovative Technology Experiences for Students and Teachers (ITEST) Learning Resource Center at EDC and the ITEST community engaged in a collaborative exploration of evidence-based, replicable models emerging from the ITEST experience. This report presents the ITEST Engineering Model, which was identified by analyzing the experiences of ITEST projects nationwide.

Key Findings

The ITEST Engineering Model illustrates that participation in ITEST engineering projects leads to increased:

  • Interest in STEM careers
  • STEM learning
  • Engagement and motivation
  • Understanding of the relevance of the ITEST projects to academics
  • Understanding of work skills and engineering as tools for 21st century learning
