Kids' Computer Use: Gender Gap Disappearing

About a month ago, I posted an excerpt of a report entitled "Kids' Computer Use
Stabilizes; Gender Gap Disappearing," which I forwarded from the RA-EQUITY
listserv. At that time, I did not have a reference, and a few people have since
asked me to provide the source. (Ok, I know -- How could I have posted a
message without a source?)

Well, I found it. The excerpt was actually a press release that appears on the
home page of the Roper Starch market research company, from a larger document
that is produced annually, the 1998 Roper Youth Report. Go to www.roper.com in
the What's New section, and click the title of the press release: "Kids'
Computer Use Stabilizes; Gender Gap Disappearing."

You can use the info from the press release by listing Roper as the source, but
if you want the complete document, make sure you're sitting down before you keep
reading. It costs $15,000. I just had to know, so I found out that
occasionally they put out these press releases for public use (for the "little
people" like us), but the complete reports are typically used by a variety of
large corporations, from packaging companies to the entertainment industry.

That's the info. Hope it helps.
