On March 30, 13 women from history will visit the Greenfield Elementary
School in Pgh. I am the counselor there and I wrote a proposal and
received a grant to bring 13 8th grade scholars students from a social
studies class at a neighboring school to visit the kndg - 6th grade
students at my school. Each home room will be visited by 3 of the young
women who will be dressed as their famous character and will bring props
to teach about their lives as famous women from history.

We are using the Vol. I and II of the Monologues of Famous Women from the
NWHP catalogue.

I've done this project twice before and find that it is a great experience
for the 8th grade young women as well as for my 500 elem. aged students.

This year, as an "added attraction" my elem. student, by homeroom, will
surprise their guests by learning a rhyme about their famous visitor from
the NWHP book "Rhyme Time -- A living Time Line of Remarkable American
Women".

We are also having daily quotes from or descriptions of famous women from
history -- on our p.a. system during the morning announcements.

the way you think about it.
