The Global Learning Group is home to several EDC Centers
of Excellence that serve as focal points for specific strands of
our work. For example, the Center for Innovative Management Technology
(CIMT) carries out research and development projects that involve cutting
edge social sector applications of information and communication technologies;
while the Center for Organizational Learning and Development
designs strategies and tools that strengthen the capacity of client
organizations in government, industry, and the non-governmental sector.
We also are engaged in a new effort to launch a Center of Best Practice
that will service the learning needs of students, teachers, and communities
in New York City.
The Global Learning Group also helps facilitate the interface
between EDC's U.S. and international work. The GLG manages several large-scale
EDC international projects that draw upon the expertise of our colleagues
working on U.S.- based activities; and, conversely, we also promote
the use of lessons learned from EDC's international experience to strengthen
our work in the United States.
