Leni,
Maggie Bates and I will be doing four-hour workshops this summer for =
teachers in Washington. This is part of the state-sponsored Summer =
Institutes, "Transforming the Learning, Teaching, and Leadership Environmen=
t." We will have a lab and have been told to expect 40 teachers per =
session. These sessions will be in Spokane (June 21), Yakima (June 29), =
Tumwater (July 28), Shoreline (Aug 3), and Puyallup (Aug 6). This is one =
part of the state's effort to support educational reform. We are excited =
to be a part of the sessions.
We are calling this, "The American Memory Project: A Hands-On/Minds On =
Inquiry Session." We will be doing a guided exploration before helping =
them begin to create their own lesson they can further develop after they =
leave.
