This is my first try to contact everyone. I hope I'm successful. HAPPY
NEW YEAR!!! I wanted to pass on the old good news-bad news-good news.
First the best of the good news:
TEACHERS ACCEPTED FOR NATIONAL CONFERENCE
Kenneth Cooper Middle School Library Media Specialist Sybil Connolly and U.
S. History teacher Kelly Middendorf, now at Putnam City West High School,
have recently been informed that their presentation proposal has been
accepted. The Ninth National Conference and Exhibition of the American
Association of School Librarians will be held in Birmingham, Alabama on
November 10-14, 1999. Over 300 proposals from across the country and around
the world were submitted for preconference sessions, showcases, and
concurrent sessions. Their session involves the Internet and is titled,
"Exploring the Nation's Library Online: Learning With the Library of
Congress." Both teachers were selected to attend the Library of Congress
American Memory Institute for Teachers last summer in Washington, D.C.
Kelly and I are very excited to have our proposal accepted. I wrote the
above for my principal and thought I might and well share it with you.

Now for the bad news, I'm having surgery this Tues. and will be out for
about six weeks. Now the silver lining in this is that once I can sit for
any lenght of time, I plan on working on THE lesson plan. I probably won't
even read let alone answer e-mails for at least a week or two. Talk to you
as soon as I can.
Sybil
